Lupron depot – Treatment for Endometriosis
So friends as a super specialized consultant who is treating endometriosis across India. This is the second most commonly abused drug, which is provided to the patient in an absolute false state. Hope that it will cure the patient of endometriosis. Unfortunately, there are many patients who fall into this trap.
It’s also unfortunate that a lot of communities of endometriosis discuss things which are probably non-scientific and there are a lot of patients who end up misguiding the other patients with a lot of false information.

One has to understand that at a GnRH Agonist Depot, the formulations are available across India commonly leuprolide and zoladex, either in a one-month or a three-month injection, typically in the dosage of 3.75 or 11.5 dosages.
These injections are typically taken at the buttock as a depot and are sometimes painful to the patient. Simultaneously, these injections can also cause a severe amount of post-menopause symptoms, as well as osteoporosis and bone weakness.
A patient should not take these injections for more than 3 shots, however, these injections are commonly abused and you will see patients in India who have taken multiple of these injections.
These injections are to be predominantly used in a single shot, especially for a patient who is undergoing any form of assisted reproductive therapy simultaneously. It has to be understood that when the cyst size is more than 5 cm, the role of this injection is absolutely limited.
There is NO role in giving this injection in a patient who is having any form of deep or nodular endometriosis or in any patient who is having any form of severe bowel or bladder endometriosis.
The cost of this injection is about 2500₹ in India and one has to realize that this is not to be taken as an alternative to surgery for endometriosis. Whenever it’s needed one has to take a consultation from a specialist who operates endometriosis.
The majority of the patients don’t visit a specialist, and there aren’t many in India at the moment, as a result, the majority of the patients still go to a routine Gynecologist, thinking he or she may be a specialist in endometriosis, that’s where such drugs get abused and the young women ultimately end up losing their fertility in the hope of avoiding an inevitable surgery.
