For me, focusing on getting enough protein and adding more fiber made the biggest difference. I didn't follow a perfect diet or cut out entire food groups, but eating more balanced meals helped with my energy levels and cravings. I'm curious what changes others noticed first when they started making lifestyle changes rather than relying on supplements?
From what I have learned, there's no specific food that can cure PCOS(PMOS), but the right diet can definitely help manage the symptoms. I try to include plenty of vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, healthy fats, nuts, seeds and low-glycemic fruits while cutting back on sugary and highly processed foods.
I can completely relate to that. I have noticed that whenever I am under a lot of stress, my symptoms seem to get worse and then the pain and discomfort make me even more stressed. It really does feel like a vicious cycle. What has helped me is trying to manage stress in small ways going for a walk, practicing deep breathing, getting enough sleep, and taking breaks when I need them. It's not a cure, but I've found that reducing stress can make my symptoms a little more manageable.
There is no single food that can cure PCOS, but a balanced diet can help manage its symptoms. Include high-fiber vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, healthy fats, and low-glycemic fruits while limiting sugary and highly processed foods.
I don't think any food can cure PCOS. From what I've learnt, eating more protein, high fibre foods, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, healthy fats and cutting back on ultra processed foods and added sugar can help manage symptoms for some people. It definitely isn't a one size fits all approach though. I'd love to know what dietary changes have made the biggest difference for others with PCOS.
