I am 31 and had a laparoscopy last year where I was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis. A few lesions and adhesions were removed, but I was told endometriosis can still come back. My AMH after surgery came back around 1.1 and my AFC was 7.
We have been trying naturally for around 10 months now. My cycles are regular and I do ovulate, but I still get pelvic pain around my periods. My husband’s semen analysis was normal and my tubes are open.
I am getting confused about whether I should keep trying for some more time or start thinking about IVF. I know everyone’s situation is different, but I don’t want to wait too long and regret it later. Has anyone with stage 3 endometriosis been in a similar situation? How did you decide when it was time to move forward?
I don't have the exact same journey since mine's adenomyosis n not fertility treatment, but the not wanting to wait too long n regret it later, i get that deep in my bones. Chronic pelvic pain messing with ur head about every decision is so real. With me it was more about how long do i keep pushing thru pain n telling myself its fine before actually doing something, n honestly the answer was way sooner than i thought.
I’d be wondering about the same thing at 10 months, especially with stage 3 endo and an AMH of 1.1. Did your fertility specialist give you a specific timeframe for trying naturally after your surgery, or have they left the decision completely up to you?
I was in a really similar position and honestly the waiting was one of the hardest parts. With stage 3 endo I was scared that if I kept trying naturally I might just be wasting time, especially when my AMH was already on the lower side. I ended up speaking to my doctor about IVF rather than waiting until I felt completely ready, and just having a plan made me feel a bit less anxious. 10 months is a long time when you're trying, especially with endo. Have u spoken to your doctor yet about how long they'd be comfortable with u trying naturally?
That AMH and AFC would honestly make me think twice about waiting too long, especially after stage 3 endo and surgery. But i also get why you'd want to give natural trying a bit more time when you're only 31 and actually ovulating. I think the hardest part is not knowing beforehand which decision you'll wish you'd made later.
