Hello everyone! I have a scheduled surgery in which I am supposed to get a robotic hysterectomy and excision surgery this Friday and I am currently compiling some questions that I can pose to the doctor regarding pre and post-op procedures. Any information regarding recovery tips or how long the procedure is expected to take would be really helpful.
I’m in the same boat with my surgery coming up, and honestly the recovery part is what I’m trying to prepare for more than the actual operation. I’d really want to know what people wish they had bought or arranged beforehand, how long they were genuinely out of action, and when they started feeling like themselves again. If anyone has had robotic hysterectomy with excision, I’d especially love to hear what the first week was actually like.
I had a similar mix of nerves and questions before surgery. I found the first few days were mostly about managing fatigue and not trying to do too much just because I felt slightly better. The gas pain was probably the weirdest part for me, and having loose clothes, easy food and a heating pad ready helped. I’d definitely ask your surgeon about exactly what they expect to find and what your restrictions will be afterwards, especially if they’re doing extensive excision.
Robotic hysterectomy this friday, that's huge n also so smart to walk in with questions ready instead of just nodding along in the appointment lol. Mine's been meds n management with adeno so no personal surgery experience to draw from here, but i hope ppl in these comments with the actual recovery timeline n tips show up for u before friday.
