A friend of mine went through egg freezing because she wasn't ready to have children yet but wanted to keep the option open for the future. She told me the process started with hormone injections for about 10 days, followed by a short procedure to collect the eggs while she was under sedation. She said it was much easier than she had imagined, and she was able to go home the same day. For her, freezing her eggs gave her peace of mind, knowing she had preserved her fertility for when the time felt right.

Has anyone here frozen their eggs? How did you decide when the right time was, and how many eggs were you able to freeze?

Egg freezing is something I’d seriously discuss with a fertility specialist if I knew I wanted to delay pregnancy or had concerns about my future fertility. The process itself involves hormone injections to stimulate the ovaries, regular scans and blood tests, and then a short egg retrieval procedure. The mature eggs are frozen and stored for later. It’s definitely not as simple as just freezing eggs and forgetting about it, so I’d want to understand my own numbers and chances properly before deciding. 🙂
