I am considering trying IUI & feeling a little unsure about what the whole process actually looks like. How many days does an IUI cycle usually take, from the start of the period to the procedure & then the waiting period for the pregnancy test? Also, how often do u need to visit the clinic during the cycle? I would really appreciate hearing about ur experiences, especially from anyone who has gone through IUI recently.
I actually found the monitoring part more annoying than the IUI itself lol. My cycle had a couple of scans and bloodwork to keep an eye on the follicles, then the insemination itself was pretty quick. After that it was basically the longest 2 weeks ever while waiting to test 😅 The exact number of clinic visits can vary though, especially depending on whether youre doing a natural cycle or medication.
I did IUI and honestly the process itself wasn't as complicated as I thought it would be. Mine started with a scan around the beginning of my period, then a few more visits for follicle monitoring and the trigger, and the IUI was done around 24 to 36 hours later. After that came the dreaded two week wait before testing. The number of clinic visits really depends on how your body responds, but for me it was a few visits across the cycle rather than having to be there every day. The waiting after the IUI was honestly the hardest part for me.

Honestly havent done iui myself but from what ive read n heard, the whole cycle usually runs abt 2-3 weeks from period start to procedure, then another 10-14 days of the wait for the test which is brutal on its own. Clinic visits are pretty frequent tho, usually every few days for monitoring scans n bloodwork around ovulation time so be ready for that. Hope someone who's actually done it chimes in for u!
