My sister has adenomyosis, and she's dealt with recurring iron deficiency because of the heavy menstrual bleeding it causes. Even after taking iron supplements, her iron levels would drop again until her gynecologist started treating the underlying adenomyosis. It was frustrating, but managing the heavy bleeding along with iron therapy made a big difference. If your iron deficiency keeps returning, it's worth discussing both your iron levels and adenomyosis treatment plan with your doctor.

I had a similar experience. Iron supplements helped for a while, but my levels kept dropping until the heavy bleeding was better controlled. Regular blood tests also helped me keep track of my iron levels.

Yes, I can definitely relate. I struggled with recurring iron deficiency because of the heavy bleeding caused by adenomyosis. Even when my iron levels improved with supplements, they would eventually drop again if the bleeding wasn't well controlled. The good news is that once I worked with my doctor to better manage my symptoms and kept a close eye on my iron levels, things gradually improved. It can be frustrating, but you're not alone, and there are treatment options that can help break the cycle.

I’ve been through this too. I could get my iron levels back up with supplements, but then the heavy bleeding would start again and I’d be right back to feeling exhausted and depleted. For me, the frustrating part was realizing that correcting the iron wasn’t really solving the reason it kept dropping. Did anyone else find that treating the bleeding itself finally made their iron levels stay stable?
