After my first pregnancy, I developed some thyroid issues, and now we’ve been trying to conceive again for almost two years. I’m wondering if thyroid levels could be affecting my chances of getting pregnant this time around. For anyone who went through a secondary infertility workup, did your doctor check your thyroid levels as part of the testing?
I had thyroid issues come up after my first pregnancy too, so this is something I’d definitely be asking about. Did anyone else have their thyroid checked during a secondary infertility workup, and did it actually lead to any change in treatment?
I had thyroid issues after my first pregnancy, so when I started trying to conceive again, I wondered if my thyroid levels could be affecting my fertility. I’ve heard that thyroid problems can sometimes affect ovulation and menstrual cycles, so I had my thyroid levels checked as part of my fertility evaluation. It gave me a better idea of whether my thyroid was under control while trying to conceive.
Mine got checked right at the start of my workup, TSH was one of the first bloods they took. Did your doctor say what your levels were after the first pregnancy?
Two years is a long time to keep wondering about this, and thyroid was actually the first thing I asked about too! It was included in my basic bloods, and my TSH turned out to matter more than I expected. Have you had yours rechecked recently?
