Had an abdominal ultrasound about 3 months ago and it was normal. But I’m still having pelvic pain even when I’m not on my period and honestly I’m getting fed up trying to figure out why. My gynae thinks it could be hormonal and says ultrasound is the clearest scan, but I keep asking about MRI and she doesn’t seem convinced. Has anyone been in this situation with a normal ultrasound but pain continuing?

I can understand why you’re frustrated. A normal ultrasound doesn’t always explain ongoing pelvic pain, so I’d definitely go back to your gynae if it’s still bothering you. Maybe ask what other possibilities could be causing it and whether you actually need any further tests. I hope you get some answers soon.

Ultrasound kept coming back normal for almost a year while the pain just sat there not going anywhere. Finally got an MRI pushed through and that's when they actually found something. Honestly dont know how she can be so sure without even trying one!

Had almost the exact same runaround, ultrasound clear for months while the pain just kept going. Pushed for an MRI eventually and that's what actually showed something the ultrasound missed. If ur gynae still isnt budging I'd ask for a referral or get a second opinion honestly...!

I had normal results in between all my pain too and honestly that made me question myself more then anything! It wasn't just period pain anymore, my pain was starting to show up on normal days too with lower back pain and thigh pain. I can't stand that much pain without a real good reason! And I kept digging...
