For those who’ve done IVF, how did you feel about transferring only one embryo?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to understand how this usually works with IVF. Is it common for clinics to transfer only one embryo at a time, even when you have more than one good quality embryo available?

I always assumed that if you had multiple embryos, you might transfer more than one depending on the situation, but I’m now seeing people talk about single embryo transfers and getting a bit confused. For those who’ve gone through IVF, did your doctor recommend one embryo at a time? Was it because of your age, embryo quality or something else?

What actually happens to our embryos after they’re frozen?

I had 9 eggs retrieved in my first IVF cycle, 7 fertilised and we ended up with 4 blastocysts. My clinic said they would be frozen, but I honestly didn’t realise there were different ways of doing embryo storage until I started reading about vitrification and liquid nitrogen. Now I’m getting paranoid about whether the storage method actually makes a difference to the embryos long term. Are embryos usually stored in liquid nitrogen at around -196°C? And is vitrification basically the standard method now, or are some clinics still using slow freezing? I’m probably overthinking this, but after going through all of this I really don’t want something as basic as storage to be overlooked.

Normal ultrasound but still having pelvic pain... could it be endo?

Had an abdominal ultrasound about 3 months ago and it was normal. But I’m still having pelvic pain even when I’m not on my period and honestly I’m getting fed up trying to figure out why. My gynae thinks it could be hormonal and says ultrasound is the clearest scan, but I keep asking about MRI and she doesn’t seem convinced. Has anyone been in this situation with a normal ultrasound but pain continuing?

Has anyone here been diagnosed with a transverse vaginal septum? What tests did your doctor use to find it? For those who had surgery to remove it, were you able to conceive naturally afterward?

TTC and thyroid issue

After my first pregnancy, I developed some thyroid issues, and now we’ve been trying to conceive again for almost two years. I’m wondering if thyroid levels could be affecting my chances of getting pregnant this time around. For anyone who went through a secondary infertility workup, did your doctor check your thyroid levels as part of the testing?

Please tell me this happened to someone else too because the itching around my surgical area is sooo bad right now :/ I’m 15 days post surgery and today it suddenly feels like I just cant stop scratching around it. Its not even pain, just this crazy irritating itch. Did this happen to anyone while healing??

How long after your lap did you actually fall pregnant, or is everyone just told to wait and see??

Two months post lap and still torn on whether to start trying now or wait longer, the not knowing is honestly weighing on me more than expected. My gynaec just says my body will tell me when its ready which doesnt help much at 2am. How long did it take everyone else to fall pregnant after their lap, and did your doctor give you an actual window or just wait and see 🙂
